sharp designs is available to initiate or complete a variety of interior design projects, from the simple task of paint color selection to “ground up” design advice for a new construction project. We will be happy to offer consulting services for clients working on just one room, or embark on the adventure of re-modeling an entire house! We will work with your selected architect or builder, or will be happy to make recommendations for your project. Our goal is to assist each client in making design decisions that will stand the test of time, meet budgetary demands, and complement the way our clients enjoy living.

Our designers have worked on re-furbishing the interior of a client’s camper, and at the same time, assisted in completing the interior of a yacht on Lake Lanier!  sharp designs specializes in residential designs of primary and secondary homes, and will work alongside other professionals in a co-operative, helpful manner to help clients “build their dreams!” From casual, to contemporary, from high formality to country living, from “French country” to “shabby chic,” sharp designs will “do it all” for you!

Resources available to clients include designers’ access to the annual International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina,  plus our designers’ availability to purchase products from a variety of manufacturers, i.e. Baker, Knapp & Tubbs, Henredon, Century, Highland House, Charleston-Forge, Michael-Thomas, American Leather, Charles Stewart,  Barlow-Tyrie, Brown-Jordan, MacGuire, Amy Howard, Mitchell-Gold, Patina, Chelsea House, and Frederick Cooper. Specialty fabric lines offered include Brunschwig & Fils, Scalamandre, Kravet, Vervain, Lee Jofa, Pindler & Pindler, Duralee---plus the many other options available through showrooms located at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center.

Access to a variety of craftspeople is an advantage for the client of sharp designs. Custom upholstery, slip-covering, wicker restoration, antique re-finishing and restoration, furniture appraisals, and custom re-upholstery work is available, and sharp designs specializes in incorporating antiques into today’s homes!

ACCESSORIES & ANTIQUES

Accessories may be purchased by sharp designs from many vendors located at The Atlanta Merchandise Mart. Specifically chosen antiques are seen as investments which sharp designs encourages; we have access to direct importers of English, French, Italian, and Scandinavian antiques. These collectable pieces can always be “added” to an interior, and while our designers enjoy working with imported pieces, American Antique pieces are prized---especially pieces that are hand-made in the South! Our designers can assist clients in creating a collection, or   adding a “treasure” to their homes, and we will always be respectful of your budget while seeking these “special” finds for you!

WINDOW TREATMENTS, SHUTTERS, AND BLINDS

Custom window treatments are a “hallmark” of a sharp designs project. Work is guaranteed, specific measurements are taken for our clients, and all the drapery workrooms with whom we contract are licensed, managed by professionals, and all installations are guaranteed. sharp designs prefers the American-made quality and reputation of the Hunter-Douglas Company for all wood blinds and shutters installed in our clients’ homes. Hunter-Douglas products can be custom-made for clients of sharp designs, and all manufactured window coverings are warranted. “Theatre- Style Draperies,” created especially for Home Theatres, along with automated draperies and window blinds are available for the discerning client who may seek this as an alternative to standard, in-home draperies.

INTERIOR PAINTING & WALLPAPERING

sharp designs offers priority referrals to specialty muralists, faux painters, wallpaperers, custom cabinetry makers, and custom furniture makers---including furniture painters and “in home” restorers. Permanent and “semi-permanent” floral arrangements can be custom-designed for your interior, as well.

RE-MODELING & NEW CONSTRUCTION

sharp designs will assist in planning re-modeling projects. Professional design assistance for custom-built primary or secondary homes is readily available through sharp designs, and we will refer clients, if desired, to other “specialty” design professionals, who are certified and licensed as Lighting, Kitchen, and/or Bath Designers. sharp designs will be delighted to work with your architect or builder in creating your new home!

RATES & FEES

sharp designs  has completed projects in Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, California, Texas, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. National and international design consultation is available; fees and expenses will be negotiated based on project requirements, prior to designer’s commitment. A deposit and notarized contract will be required for all design projects over
$ 5,000.

• Hourly design consultation is available.
• Projects that require significant “hands-on” design work ( i.e. new construction or re-modeling) may be presented to sharp designs.  Designer will meet personally with the prospective clients/builder/developer as soon as possible following clients’ initial contact.  sharp designs prefers to receive an RFP  from the prospect, detailing the travel requirements and scope of the project prior to consideration.  If room renderings and color schematic presentation boards are requested by clients, an additional charge applies.
• There is an additional charge to items purchased from wholesale establishments.
• There is a 40% “up-charge” on all wholesale items selected from ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center).

TERMS:  Billable time is accounted for and bills are sent to client on the 15th and the 30th of each month. Cash or Check due upon receipt of invoice. No credit cards accepted. All “special” orders from custom vendors ( for example: custom carpeting, custom painted furniture, custom-designed headboards or sofas or bookshelves) require 100% payment “up-front,” and all specialty orders, once paid for, are non-refundable.

SPECIFICS:

• For all client orders, a 50% deposit is required prior to the order placement.
• A 50% deposit is required following the agreement by the client to engage designer’s workroom for the fabrication of window treatments, slip-covers, or bed linens.
• A 50% deposit is required for all furniture orders. Shipping and Tax are payable, along with the remaining 50% “balance due” when the item is received by the designers’ chosen delivery service. All orders require payment in full prior to being delivered or installed.

VOIDING DESIGN CONTRACTS:

Design Contracts with sharp designs can be voided with a 30-day written notice by Client or by Designer.

All fees not yet billed when the 30-day notice is invoked will be billed by Designer within 10 days, and the “amount due” will be deducted from clients’ deposit prior to re-funding balance due to client. 

Any specialty or “custom” items ordered would be delivered to client by Designer’s chosen delivery service, and all fees will be due prior to delivery or installation of these items.
